It's not all tomatoes out there though. Despite hacking off most of the basil (in the hope that it would die and stop stinking up my house) it's grown back bigger and better than before. Sigh.
I always say it's a good idea to cut your homegrown fruit and veggies in half (at least) to see what lurks with in. If you're skeptial about this advice just have a look at the photo below...I wouldn't fancy biting into this tomato and getting a nasty, wiggly surprise.
I'm sure it's no suprise that tomatoes + basil - caterpillars = pasta for dinner.
