There's no way to hold a cucumber is there without it looking kind of...rude (if you know what I mean). But I was so impressed with the size of these little beauties that some hand modelling was required.
I'm not sure if these cucumbers were ripe or unripe (how do you tell, really?). They look a bit green applies in this photo but they tasted good enough in this Chinese Cucumber Salad that is a firm favourite in my house.
Happy gardening, Miss Piggy xoxo
Oooo very nice! Are these Spacemasters, I've grown some but mine are still flowering.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the dressing in the salad?
ReplyDeleteI love that cuc salad. Gaby - I use garlic, chilli, dash of vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil.
ReplyDeleteI am loving your cucumbers Mel. But you are right...just last night I tried to take some photos of mine and couldn't help wondering...do they look too rude? Mine are much longer and thinner, if you know what I mean :)
ReplyDeleteHey Gaby, here's a link to the recipe I use - it's really tasty (esp with some Asian style chicken wings) http://deliciousness-at-home.blogspot.com.au/2011/06/asian-smashed-cucumber-salad.html
ReplyDeleteI think they're just regular cucumbers...seeds from Bunnings.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean *snigger*
